About Schoolmaster

The overall objective of the Schoolmaster module is to capture the largest possible amount of information on training opportunities relevant to the EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), and to civilian crisis management in general, and to make this body of information easily accessible at a central location.

Users of the Schoolmaster back-office environment are Training Institutions at EU level, in EU member States, in third countries or other international organisations who have been registered in Schoolmaster through their national point of contact for Schoolmaster or the Goalkeeper-Schoolmaster Administrator in the EEAS. Training Institutions operating in the Schoolmaster back-office are given credentials to feed and update information on their courses. Uploaded course information is centralized and can be consulted by the public through the Schoolmaster website.

The Schoolmaster module has been in use since 2010 and its technology has been upgraded to allow the consistent development of the Goalkeeper platform, the integration of its different modules and a more user-friendly access to both the back-office and the public environment. The structure of the Schoolmaster IT module (entities, roles and hierarchies) has been developed on the basis of the Goalkeeper-Registrar module with a few adjustments to the specific needs of the Schoolmaster module's contents.

The finalisation of the Goalkeeper platform will allow the integration of Schoolmaster with the Registrar module to ensure that training opportunities can be directed to the most appropriate categories of civilian experts in EU member states and to selected personnel for CSDP missions.
